Cyclone the storm is forecast to become a uncommon highest-level hurricane as it shifts in the direction of the Caribbean island, bringing dangerous flash flooding and landslides.

This weather system, which had wind speeds of up to 120 mph as of 0600 Greenwich Mean Time, is currently turning northwest in the Caribbean region and is expected to make landfall by early next week, according to weather experts.

Alerts of electricity outages and damage to infrastructure have been announced as this storm brings up to 30 inches of rain and sea level surges as high as thirteen feet above normal levels. "Seek shelter now," inhabitants have been told.

This hurricane is the thirteenth cyclone in this year's Atlantic season, which normally finishes in late autumn.

Category Five Hurricane Threat

A category five cyclone is the strongest type, with sustained winds of at least 157mph.

"A multi-day period of damaging winds and torrential rain has started and will cause severe and deadly sudden floods and numerous mudslides," urged climate experts.

The nation's leader the official stated: "I know that there are many Jamaicans who are anxious, who are deeply troubled, and rightfully so: worry is natural.

"Yet the most effective method to address worry and any nervousness and worry is to remain prepared."

Locals are being advised to protect their properties with protective bags and wooden boards, and to accumulate essentials.

Broader Consequences

Advisories are also active for areas in the neighboring country including the main city, Port au Prince, the adjacent nation and Cuba's eastern region, where this storm is expected to bring analogous consequences by the middle of next week.

Landslides currently triggered by the hurricane have already killed two in Haiti, according to the nation's Civil Protection agency.

Future Trajectory

The hurricane is predicted to pass over the island nation by Wednesday before moving through the Greater Antilles and entering the open ocean.

By the time it makes contact with the Caribbean nation, it is anticipated to have diminished to a category three hurricane.
